Questions about interiors in Bangalore, answered

The questions people ask us most often, answered plainly. If yours is not here, WhatsApp us — we would rather answer it than have you guess.

Where do you work?

Anywhere in Bengaluru. Our office and experience centre are in Belathur, and our team reaches most sites in the city comfortably. We also take projects in Tirupati and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, in Hyderabad in Telangana and in Chennai in Tamil Nadu — those are measured on site, made to the approved drawing and installed under our supervision, which is what makes an out-of-city project work at all. Ask us about anywhere else and we will tell you honestly whether we can serve you well.

Cost

What does a free site visit include?

A designer comes to your flat, measures every relevant wall, checks the builder's electrical and plumbing points, and talks through how you actually use each room. You get a written scope and an indicative cost, not a hard-sell. There is no charge and no obligation to continue.

How do payments work?

It depends. The stages follow the scope: a modular kitchen made off site and a full home with site work do not have the same milestones.

What decides it

  • The scope of work
  • How much is made off site versus built on site
  • Whether materials you have chosen need ordering in advance

What we check at the site visit

  • The full scope, so the quotation is itemised rather than a lump sum
  • What has to be ordered early, and when
Book a free site visit

The schedule is set out in your agreement before any money changes hands, and nothing is due before you have seen an itemised quotation.

Quartz or granite for the countertop?

It depends. Granite is porous and needs sealing; quartz is non-porous and costs more. Which is right depends on how your kitchen is actually used.

What decides it

  • How often something is left on the counter before it is wiped
  • Whether you cook with turmeric and beetroot daily
  • The run length, and how visible a seam would be
  • Budget, since quartz is the dearer of the two

What we check at the site visit

  • The counter run, so we know where a joint would fall
  • Sink, hob and drainboard positions before the slab is cut

The [countertops guide](/materials/kitchen-countertops) sets out stain resistance, heat tolerance and joints for each.

How a project runs

How long will my home take?

It depends. A kitchen alone and a full home are different projects, and most of the calendar is decided before anything is built.

What decides it

  • How much of the home is in scope
  • How quickly the design and the materials are signed off
  • What your apartment association allows, and when it issues a work permit
  • The condition of the flat as it was handed over

What we check at the site visit

  • Every relevant measurement, against the builder drawing
  • Access, lift protection and permitted working hours
  • Whether civil work is needed before interiors can start

We share a week-by-week schedule in writing before work starts, and the date in your agreement is the one that counts.

Can I visit your experience centre?

Yes, and it is the fastest way to judge quality. Our centre on Belathur Main Road has a working display kitchen you can open and close, plus material samples for shutters, hardware and countertops. We are open Monday to Saturday, 9:30am to 6:30pm. Book a slot so a designer is free when you arrive rather than mid-site-visit.

Who will I be dealing with during the project?

One point of contact, start to finish. Cosyspaces is founder-led, so the person who understands your brief is the person who answers your call in week six. You will not be handed from a sales executive to a designer to a project manager, each holding a different version of the plan. That is the main thing a studio our size can offer that a large brand cannot.

Can you work with my builder's layout?

It depends. Builder drawings and delivered flats rarely match to the millimetre, and plumbing and gas positions decide more than preference does.

What decides it

  • Where the drainage stack, gas point and chimney duct actually are
  • The width of the utility opening
  • Beams, ducts and columns the drawing does not show
  • What your association permits changing

What we check at the site visit

  • Every wall measured as built, not as drawn
  • Service positions confirmed on site
  • Whether a layout change needs civil work, which we quote separately
Book a free site visit

Almost always, yes. What we do not do is promise a layout change before seeing what the services allow.

Materials

What warranty do I get?

It depends. Cover follows the materials and hardware actually used, and those are yours to choose.

What decides it

  • The carcass grade specified per room
  • The shutter finish, which ages differently by type
  • The hardware brand and tier
  • Manufacturer cover on appliances and fittings you supply

What we check at the site visit

  • Which zones are wet, so the right grade goes where water is
  • What you already own and want us to work around

The cover that applies to your project is written into your agreement, along with how to raise a service request afterwards.

Is BWP ply needed in bedrooms?

It depends. Plywood grade is about how the glue behaves when it gets wet, and a dry bedroom is a different problem from a sink base.

What decides it

  • Whether the wall backs onto a bathroom or an external wall
  • How damp the flat gets in monsoon
  • Whether a loft sits under a slab that has leaked before
  • What you want to spend where it is not visible

What we check at the site visit

  • Which walls are shared with wet areas
  • Any existing damp or seepage marks

See the [plywood grades guide](/materials/plywood-grades) for what each grade is actually built to survive.

Sliding or hinged wardrobes?

It depends. Sliding shutters buy back the floor a hinged door needs, and cost you seeing half the wardrobe at a time.

What decides it

  • How close the bed sits to the wardrobe wall
  • Whether you want the whole interior visible at once
  • Mirror or glass, which changes the shutter weight
  • Budget, since sliding costs more for the same width

What we check at the site visit

  • The clear floor in front of the wardrobe wall
  • Ceiling height, and whether a loft is worth adding

The [wardrobes guide](/materials/wardrobes-sliding-vs-hinged) compares both on access, floor space, maintenance and cost.
